Narcissus ‘quail’ Watercolor and ink on watercolor paper 10" x 20" The daffodil is a beautiful flower. I choose to work on it because of the delicate ripples formed within the trumpet. The more I looked at the specimen, the more enchanted I became with the curls of each petal. Living near Magnusson Park in Seattle, WA, I was able to take reference photos, sketches, and measurements from live specimens. Having access to live specimens gives a much better understanding that can be lost in photos and pressings. |
I am inspired by the beauty of nature and do my best to capture its essence.
