Graphite 19" x 15" “Wobbles” is a Prairie Bison, and he lives in my home town of Marysville, Wa. Creating a portrait of a bison has been on my to-do list for several years. When the opportunity came in my Wildlife Illustration course, I knew I finally had to go out and find my own subject. It was such a pleasure to meet, observe, and photograph “Wobbles.” I am happy with my first attempt at rendering a Bison and hope to do several more studies in the future. |
Subjects jump out at me, not literally, but with their unique beauty and intricacies. Something about it—texture, weight, pattern, lines—consumes my mind until I can study it and put it to paper.
