I have been inspired by the landscape and culture of the region ever since. The snow leopard is a big cat that is uniquely adapted to life in the high Himalayas, able to survive in cold, snowy conditions high above the tree line. Snow leopards' skeletal and muscular structures help them to leap gracefully down sheer rock faces at high speeds. These elusive cats are difficult for scientists to observe in the wild, and their vanishing numbers are an indicator of the delicate environmental balance in Himalayan ecosystems. |
